Mindful Yoga with Lori
Yoga is a spiritual discipline much like fasting, meditation and prayer that cannot be owned by one specific religion. While yoga predates Hinduism, Hindus were the first to give yoga a written structure and claim it as there own. Jehovah God is restoring all things to Himself and this includes the spiritual discipline of yoga.
Mindful Yoga is an experience that embraces elements of yoga: breathwork, meditation and physical therapy. As we comb the Scriptures, we find similar experiences of worship. As a Holy Yoga practitioner, my purpose is to facilitate a Christ-honoring experience that offers an opportunity for believers and non-believers alike to authentically connect to Jehovah God, the God of Israel, through His Word and His Spirit.
My passion is to guide and support those that live life in a more "yang", highly active, state of being; constantly pouring out to others, overworked, overstressed, overwhelmed and most likely inhabit a demanding lifestyle; physically, mentally, emotionally. Learning to be disciplined and consistent with scheduling your own "time out" from life's demands enable you to regroup, gain wisdom, time and space to be filled up again and again and again! This practice of self care helps you be a better leader, sets you up for success to be a better wife, mom, boss, caregiver, mentor, teacher, student and supporter of your spheres of influence; family, church, marketplace, civic, education, media and and and. I value working with those who either don't believe they can move their bodies, or aren't yet disciplined in the practice to do so, maybe have never tried yoga before, have difficulty connecting to their bodies, possibly stuck in a freeze, fight or flight response, experiencing inflammation &/or underlying health conditions due to life's demands. You've sought and found the therapeutic practice that promises to be a safe space to just "be". My Holy Yoga Restorative Yin practices are safe, too, if you're working through an injury, chronic holding patterns or chronic illness. Everyone can be restored, given the right opportunity, and guided into a lifestyle and practice of safe and productive rhythms of balance! I've personally benefited from said practice and have come a loooong way since recovering from my own sudden season of unmanaged stress that left me lifeless. Beloved, it's not about the yoga, it's about the life that springs forth out of your Mindful Yoga experience; inner healing, restoration, emotional regulation, a sense of more stability, strength, purpose, peace and wellness. Wellness leads to dreams, identity and purpose realized!
